Pipita claims his move out of Madrid had to do with his poor relation with Ronaldo. Gonzalo reportedly claimed that CR7 is egotistical.

The fact that Gonzalo Higuain called Cristiano Ronaldo "egotistical" is not true according to a statement released by Napoli's front office. Hours after it was reported that Pipita had made negative remarks about his former teammate, considering him someone with lots of ego, his club has come out to deny such allegations.

Gonzalo played for Real Madrid from 2007 to 2013. Two years after his arrival, CR7 arrived to the dressing room and it seems like the Portuguese striker did not waste any time telling the rest of his teammates how he wanted to be considered and treated.

"He has a lot of ego. If you don't say he's the best, he's not your friend. Cristiano thinks he's the best but he's over-rated," Higuain said about Ronaldo in an interview with Don Balón.

The controversial remarks would not end there. Pipita claims that even CR7 had something to do with his departure from the club in 2013. Playing for the Argentina National Team, has given him the chance to share the locker room with Lionel Messi. The Napoli star claims there are big differences between both players.

"I've shared a dressing room with Messi and one is nothing like the other," Higuain added.

Money was not the main issue in Higuain's departure from the club

The Italian club claims that nothing of this is true. They even add that the interview with Don Balon did not even take place.

"Therefore the sentences attributed to Higuain are considered false and without any foundation," is what is read as a conclusion of the statement released by Napoli.
