The defending champions will be hoping they can beat Arsenal to second place with the title race well beyond their reach. The Citizens were regarded as the favourites to win the league alongside Chelsea but their dismal run as of late pushed them out of the title race.

Manuel Pellegrini has conceded defeat in the title race with only four games left to play now. The Chilean has engaged in a war of words on a number of occasions with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho however he has put his rivalry aside to congratulate him and has labelled the Blues as the best team this season.

"You ask me about this season, I think that Chelsea was the best team and that they deserve to win the title, because they have been the most consistent team with very good players," he said.

"I congratulate their owner because he is always improving his squad, and I congratulate their fans and Jose Mourinho and the players, because they deserve absolutely the title."

The Citizens were involved in a five goal thriller against Aston Villa last time out, a match the Citizens won by a 3-2 score line. Aguero opened up the scoring for the homeside and Kolarov doubled the lead in the second half. However Villa scored twice in less than 20 minutes to turn the match completely around but Fernandinho scored the winner in the dying moments to hand his team three very important points.

Tottenham on the other hand are out of the race for a finish in the top four but will be hoping they can finish in 5th ahead of Liverpool who currently occupy the position. They were against Southampton last time out a match in which Spurs came twice from behind as the match finished 2-2.

The last three encounters between the two sides have been full of goals with atleast five goals scored in each of the matches. City emerged victorious in all three matches winning the games with big margins. They were very dominant when the two sides met in the reverse fixture at the Etihad with Sergio Aguero scoring four times as City recorded a 4-1 win.

Danny Rose could return to the side having recovered from a hamstring injury but Ben Davies (shoulder) and Kyle Walker (foot) have both been ruled out of the match. The Citizens will be without their talismanic midfielder Yaya Toure who has been ruled out with a hamstring problem. The Ivorian joins captain Vincent Kompany and forward Stevan Jovetic on the injury list.
