The Red Devils coach was evasive with the media when asked about the Real Madrid star

Despite being a key member of Real Madrid's Champions League-winning campaign, Gareth Bale's future in the Spanish capital has constantly been the subject of speculation.

After an initial settling in period, the Welsh star has been in great form for Carlo Ancelotti's men, netting 33 goals--several of which were in finals--and providing 24 assists in 66 appearances across all competitions.

Yet, although he was signed for a reported €100 million from Tottenham in 2013, and regardless of his impressive stats, it has not prevented the rumor mill from churning, with Manchester United being constantly linked with bringing him back to the Premier League.

Interestingly, new Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal had this to say when asked about the former Tottenham attacker, which reports claim would cost the Premier League giants a whopping £120 million:

"I cannot discuss that with you. I discuss that with my CEO and not with anyone from the media."

This is notable as while he did not confirm interest, he did not deny it, either, and a recent survey of Real Madrid fans revealed a surprising result.

As per reports, over half of the team's supporters believe that the speedy winger is not indispensable, especially if a huge money offer came along, with €150 million being set as the benchmark.

Should the 20-time Premier League winners make a move, it is unlikely that Bale could return to England in January and a summer transfer might be more likely.

If so, he would then join up with Angel Di Maria, who broke the English transfer record when he departed Madrid in favor of Manchester this past summer.
