Dating back to an incident that occurred during the 2014 World Cup, the Argentine team-mates will come face to face on opposite sides at the Etihad

When English Premier League giants Manchester United travel to face neighbors and fierce rivals Manchester City in Sunday's highly-anticipated Manchester derby, all eyes might be on two particular players: Marcos Rojo and Sergio Aguero.

A rift between the Argentine team-mates, both part of La Albiceleste's impressive run to the 2014 World Cup final at the famous Maracana Stadium, was the reason why the Manchester City striker pulled out of the Premier League Kicks initiative's kids’ coaching session in east Manchester, which the United defender was present for.

Claiming to have to pick up family members from the airport, Aguero's last-minute no-show appeared to have pleased the former Sporting Lisbon full-back, who stated: “Where is Sergio? “Perhaps he is a little scared.”

“Is he worried about the derby? Ha ha. Maybe that is the case. You will have to ask them,” Rojo added.

So, you may start to wonder what exactly happened at Brazil to create bad blood between the two. As reported by the Star Sunday, their heated feud sparked when:

“Rojo invited his Argentine pop star pal El Polaco [Ezequiel Cwirkaluk] into the inner sanctum – much to astonished Aguero’s fury. El Polaco is the former partner of Aguero’s current girlfriend, fellow pop artist Karina Tejeda – and Aguero clearly was not happy and made his feelings known."

This occurrence took place after the South American nation and two-time World Cup winner beat Nigeria 3-2 in the group-stage, at Port Alegre.

According to the Mirror, “Aguero had to be dragged away from Cwirkaluk by team-mates before angrily squaring up to Rojo”. Things between "Kun" and Rojo escalated, forcing Argentine officials to intervene in order to maintain peace and harmony among the squad.
