Real Madrid will go against Deportivo in an away fixture at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor on Saturday, the 20th of September.

Los Blancos have made a dismal start to the new season and after a shock 4-2 defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad, Carlo Ancelotti's men followed it with a 2-1 loss against defending champions Atletico Madrid at home. Their antics have left them positioned 13th in the league table having recorded just a single win in the three matches they have played so far which also includes two defeats.

However the reigning European champions did manage to create an impression in their opening Champions League game of the season when they subjected Swiss side Basel to a 5-1 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu. James Rodriguez scored on his Champions League debut for Madrid whereas Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema also got on the score sheet for the Castilians.

Colombian star James Rodriguez who has already scored twice for Los Merengues since making a big money switch from Monaco in the summer has claimed that their convincing win on Tuesday will give the team a lot of confidence in their upcoming matches, he also insisted that the team has a strong mentality and will bounce back from consecutive defeats in La Liga.

"We hope to continue playing like this and keep scoring goals. This match will give us confidence for what's ahead. Everything came off for us and as a team we did everything well," he said.

"I also had a good game against Atletico but I think I was better today. I had a good game.”

"I think Cristiano Ronaldo and I have always had a good relationship, we always talk to one and other and he's a great person.

"As for the group, we are mentally strong."

Deportivo on the other hand have made a strong start following their return to Spain’s top flight football having picked four points from the three matches they have played. Victor Fernandez’s side picked their first win of the season as Juan Dominguez's solitary goal of the match gave them a 1-0 win over Eibar.
Fernandez however could make a number of changes in the squad with his side set to feature thrice in eight days but might be without Luis Farina who missed the match against Eibar due to a hip problem. Madrid on the other hand could welcome back defender Dani Carvajal who has recovered from a hamstring injury.
