A deal has been agreed between Manchester United and Arsenal for the transfer of England international player Danny Welbeck. The news was officially confirmed by Arsenal via Twitter about an hour after the transfer window closed. Welbeck signed on a 'long term' deal for an undisclosed fee, according to club's website. Welbeck joins ‘Chicharito’ Hernández in the list of Manchester United players who left Old Trafford on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, different sources reported that the 23-year-old underwent his medical at Arsenal but apparently the London club later denied the rumors, as they didn’t want to leak any information before a deal was officially agreed.
Welbeck has been the chosen one by Arsene Wenger as the manager was looking for a replacement in Arsenal’s offensive line after French striker Olivier Giroud picked an injury a couple of weeks ago in a Premier League match against Everton at Goodison Park. Giroud is expected to be on the sidelines for a couple of months.
The England international is a product of Manchester United academy and has spent his whole career with the ‘Red Devils’. He made his debut in 2008 and has made 90 appearances and scored 20 goals with the club since. With England’s national team, Danny Welbeck has made 26 appearances and has scored eight goals.

Daniel Sturridge - £12m. Shane Long - £12m. Mario Balotelli - £16m. Danny Welbeck - £16m. The transfer market is very strange.

People saying Welbeck is useless. Same was said of Sturridge pre-Liverpool - another who needed trust and a good run in his right position
