The last time these two countries met, there was a lot more at stake. They now meet in hot and humid Miami, before they travel to Brazil.

Two nations who prepare for the World Cup will be looking to make some final adjustments on Wednesday evening. Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida will welcome both England and Ecuador, as they go head-to-head for the first time since 2006.

A David Beckham free-kick in the 2006 World Cup lifted the Three Lions over the South American’s, sending England through to the quarterfinals of the competition. Beckham will obviously not be available for this fixture, so Roy Hodgson will have to find inspiration in someone else.

England defeated Peru at Wembley last week, in their final match before they jumped on a plane and headed for the United States.

After having their training session cut short yesterday due to storms moving in, Wayne Rooney and his teammates will be seeking another victory, before they take on Honduras on Saturday in their final preparation match.

While Roy Hodgson’s side has been getting some favorable results, Ecuador is coming off a 3-1 defeat at the weekend against Mexico.

England vs Ecuador on beIN SportsReinaldo Rueda will not have been happy with the performance, and he will likely expect his side to respond on Wednesday, regardless of this match only being a friendly. Heading into the World Cup with confidence is very important.

Ecuador will likely welcome back Caicedo and Enner Valencia into the offensive line against England. Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia could also start in place of Fidel Martinez.

Their opponents will feature a strong squad of their own, with an in-form Joe Hart leading from the back. The Manchester City keeper was on the end of some criticism at the beginning of the season, but he has since found his form just in time.

Both managers now have limited time to make some final adjustments and do some last minute experiments.
