In the last few days Chelsea and PSG reached an agreement whereby David Luiz would join the French champions for approximately £50M. The record-breaking transfer fee is the highest ever paid for a defender. The last highest deal with regards to an English club's defender involved Rio Ferdinand's move from Leeds to Manchester United.

The previous two highest deals involving defenders were also made by the Paris giant and involved Thiago Silva and Marquinhos. PSG’s all Brazilian centre-back lineup seems to be complete now.

Sources from Paris revealed that the Parisians had to act quickly to beat the competition of Barcelona and Bayern Munich. But as the French proved year after year, when it comes to transfers they do not mess around.

This will be PSG's back-line in the upcoming season

David Luiz is undergoing a physical examination by PSG’s medical staff, which was flown to Brazil immediately after the agreement, which was facilitated by Terry’s renewal.

Luiz knew Mou's tricks even before meeting the Portuguese manager

Chelsea did not seem too worried about loosing the Brazilian and will use the money to seal the deal with Diego Costa, very high on Mourinho’s wishlist.

Luiz will have to smooth over past grudges with his new teammates, having eliminated them from the Champions League
