About Girabola
History, Format, Organization, Media Coverage
The Angola Girabola, also known as Campeonato Nacional de Futebol em Séniores Masculinos, is the men's top division of Angolan football. It was founded in 1979 and is organized by the Angolan Football Federation.
The league operates on the relegation and promotion system. Sixteen teams compete in the competition. At the end of the season, the side that tops the table with the most points is adjudged champion. The league winner and runner-up qualify for the CAF Champions League.
The bottom three of the league are relegated to the Provincial stages.
