West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool Match Preview

West Bromwich Albion will play host to Liverpool in Saturday’s late kickoff at the Hawthorns.

This game will see Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish go head to head with Roy Hodgson, the man he replaced in the Anfield hotseat. Dalglish will be looking for some revenge after losing 2-1 to Hodgson in this fixture late last season.

Leading goal scorer Sane Long is sidelined with a knee injury for West Brom, meaning Simon Cox or Somen Tchoyi will partner Peter Odemwingie in the Baggies attack.

Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson are both expected to play for Liverpool after sitting out of the midweek Carling Cup victory over Stoke City.

Striker Luis Suarez suffered an ankle knock against Stoke and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.

Suarez has been involved in a racism row with Manchester United defender Patrice Evra recently but has received the full backing of his manager Dalglish. “He is just a fantastic person as well as a fantastic footballer,” Dalglish told BBC Sport.
