Norwich will be playing to record a miraculous revival while Arsenal, having secured fourth place, will keep their eyes firmly fixed on the FA Cup Final.

Preview: Can Arsenal record yet another win to end the campaign well?

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal’s campaign started on a brilliant note and is set to end on a brilliant note. Why is it that they are out of the running for the Premier League title?

The answer is a slump at the beginning of 2014 which saw them record embarrassing losses to the opposition above them. Injuries as usual derailed the campaign for Arsene Wenger’s team. Mesut Özil’s lack of fitness saw his campaign interrupted too. Overall, this season promised plenty for Arsenal but showed that to win the title, they have to be less naive in the big games.

Arsenal could end the campaign level on points with Chelsea if the Blues lose to Cardiff City; however, an inferior goal difference will see them remain fourth. An inferior goal difference is exactly what might end Norwich’s Premier League run. They could end the campaign level on points with West Brom but eventually be undone by a poor goal difference.

Arsenal will perhaps not field their most important players with an eye on the FA Cup Final next week. Winning the FA Cup would be an enormous achievement for Arsenal; it would be their first trophy since 2005, when they incidentally won the same competition. Overall, Wenger can be satisfied with the campaign, but, if he signs an extension, he must look to the bigger matches and learn from his errors.

Anthony Pilkington is out for West Brom while Joseph Yobo is doubtful. Abou Diaby, Theo Walcott, Serge Gnabry, Jack Wilshere, Ryo Miyaichi, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are out for Arsenal. Aaron Ramsey is a slight doubt for this match. Arsenal’s brand of football should make this contest exciting, regardless of the personnel Wenger fields on the day.

For Norwich, it will be very difficult to contest this. West Brom has to lose by roughly 17 goals for Norwich to win by a goal and to stay up. Survival is hence almost impossible. Norwich might play to the best of their abilities nonetheless to allow their fans to have a last hooray in the Premier League. This campaign has been a miserable one but they might return soon to the elite of English football.

Will Arsenal end the campaign on a winning note?
