Klopp's side are keen on the Three Lions ace but the Merseyside giants could face tough competition from within England.

It is no secret that Liverpool are in need of midfielders. Take a look at Klopp's starting eleven from their most recent games and that will give you a clear picture as to which areas they will aim to strengthen next summer.

Furthermore, one name already appears to be on their list for 2023 and that man is none other than Jude Bellingham, the highly-rated Dortmund ace. The English talent is seen as one of the hottest names in world football and just as was the case for Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, the midfielder is tipped to leave the Signal Iduna Park for the Premier League soon.

In fact, according to German football expert Florian Plettenberg, the 19-year-old could leave his current Bundesliga employers as early as next year, which is a huge boost for the Merseyside giants. Reports claimed that the Reds were keen on signing the former Birmingham starlet this summer but were forced to wait as BVB did not want to lose Jude and Haaland in the same window.

As a result, Arthur Melo was signed on loan as a short-term fix to their current midfield issue, pointing to a summer bid for the aforementioned Three Lions ace. Unfortunately, Liverpool's path will not be straightforward as one of their biggest Premier League rivals are also in the hunt for Bellingham.

They are none other than Manchester United. Plettenberg named the Red Devils alongside Klopp's side as the clubs that stand a great chance of signing the teenager. Check out Florian's words regarding the Bellingham situation in the video clip below.

Jude is seen as a ambitious footballer and as a result, he might be more drawn to an Anfield move given their tremendous success under Klopp. However, finances coud play a huge role as Dortmund are likely to demand a hefty fee for the highly-rated midfielder.

Additionally, while Liverpool remain one of the favorites to finish in the top four, their rough start to the Premier League season has sparked concerns as to whether they will have UEFA Champions League football next term. Meanwhile, Ten Hag looks to guide Manchester United back into Europe's premier club competition.

Both teams will be in action this midweek, starting with the Merseyside giants. Salah and Co. take on Ajax in an interesting showdown as the English giants aim to bounce back from their embarrasing 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the opening round. Likewise, Manchester United lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad in their UEFA Europa League opener and will look to make amends on Thursday when they face Sheriff.
