beIN Sports will provide live coverage of this La Liga clash between two clubs headed in opposite directions. Barcelona look to top the league standings, while Betis are in a very difficult relegation battle.

Preview: Forgetting the negative news surrounding the club is key for Barcelona

The La Liga campaign is coming to an end, but things just do not get any easier for the Blaugrana. After their injury blow to Victor Valdes, the Catalans are now facing a transfer suspension from FIFA.

On top of a possible suspension, Barcelona drew mid-week at home against Atletico Madrid, in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. A wonder goal from Diego put the visitors ahead, but Neymar slotted a ball past the Atletico goalkeeper, but that was all the hosts could do.

Adding to their problems is an injury to Gerard Pique. The Spanish international up for a header early in the match, and landed awkwardly, forcing him to come off. Barcelona’s medical staff have ruled him out for up to four weeks with a hairline hip fracture.

With all the negative attention that is surrounding the Spanish champions at the moment, the players will have to do their best to change all that on the pitch.

Gerardo Martino is confident that he can keep his players fully focused on their upcoming tasks, despite everything that is going on at the club.

“It’s much easier for the players to focus on football, because ultimately that is our job,” Martino told reporters. “We’re aware of what’s going on but our attention is on the match against Betis.”

“For a team that has up to 12 games ahead of us and in contention for three competitions it’s important not to deviate from the objectives we set ourselves.”

Barcelona will get a chance to bounce back from their mid-week draw against a Betis side that looks destined for relegation.

Betis had a chance to get closer to the safety zone, but conceding two goals in the final seven minutes of their match against Malaga resulted in a heartbreaking 1-2 defeat. Now, eight points separate them from safety, and with only seven matches remaining and one being away to Barcelona, things are not looking good for the Andalusian’s.
