Tuchel is keen on reuniting with the Gabonese striker. However, Xavi isn't a fan of letting the 33-year-old leave the Camp Nou.

Chelsea were in action yesterday, taking on Tottenham in an exciting Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge. While the Blues were the dominant side, outplaying Conte's high-flying north London outfit, the Blues' biggest shortcoming was evident once more and that's their lack of a reliable goalscorer up front.

Tuchel was already short on quality in the striker department, but now he is also short on numbers, with Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku having left London for RB Leipzig and Inter Milan, respectively. As a result, the FIFA Club World Cup holders are on the lookout for a new no.9.

And according to several sources, Chelsea are focused on bringing one former Premier League hitman to Stamford Bridge. That player is none other than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the former captain of bitter London rivals Arsenal.

The Gabonese star infamously left the English capital in January after falling out with Arteta and Co. at the Emirates Stadium, thus getting a dream move to Barcelona. At the Camp Nou, the 33-year-old rekindled his form, scoring 11 goals in 17 appearances in La Liga.

Additionally, Tuchel is familiar with Aubameyang, having worked with the Gabonese ace during their time at Dortmund. The pair enjoy a lovely relationship, with the German coach even speaking highly of the attacker during his disciplinary drama at Arsenal.

However, how much will it cost Chelsea to land the former Gunners skipper? According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, the Blaugrana have demanded €30M ($30.5M) for the forward. Chelsea aren't too keen on paying this figure as they hoped to seal the deal for a lower price, meaning negotiations are likely to carry on.

Tuchel, however, is pushing for this deal. After witnessing Kai Havertz's horrible miss against Tottenham, it's not hard to see why the coach is keen on adding a proven goalscorer to his ranks. However, Xavi is reportedly fighting to keep Aubameyang in Catalonia as he is great competition for marquee summer signing Robert Lewandowski.
