Arsenal are finalising a move for Oleksandr Zinchenko from Man City after reaching agreement in principle on a four year contract for the Ukrainian international. The Gunners are expected to pay the Citizens $36M with $2.4M in add-ons as they close in on their fifth signing ahead of the new season.
Earlier this month, Arsenal secured the service of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for $54M and were in pursuit for the signature of Leeds United's Raphinha. However, Mikel Arteta's side was forced to turn their attention elsewhere when it became obvious that a move to either Barcelona or Chelsea was the player's preferred choice.
Having already signed Marquinhos, Matt Turner, and Fabio Vieira, the North London club have now recruited their fifth signing of the season - their second from Manchester City. According to The Athletic, Zinchenko will leave City's pre-season tour to undergo a medical and sign to play for the North London club for the next four season.
At City, Zinchenko has primarily been utilised at left-back by Guardiola, despite the fact that he prefers to play in midfield for his nation. The player's versatility is admired by many and his role at Arsenal remains to be seen. He departs from the Etihad with four League Cup and English Premier League apiece.
