Honduras and Azerbaijan will meet in Zell-am-See on June 2. To boost their spirits ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Los Catrachos are aiming to end a winless strake of three matches without a win since March.

Honduras fans waving the country's flag.Honduras definitely need to improve defensively. Against Belarus on May 27, they conceded two scrappy goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half. They therefore went down 2-1 at a point in the game after taking the lead through De Leon’s excellent free-kick. But substitute Georgie Welcome equalized on the 74th minute for Los Catrachos.

The only positive that Coach Reinaldo Rueda might have noticed in the match was the physical and mental strength of Honduras’ front line. Against Azerbaijan, his players may not be at their full best as a match against Romania on June 5 is on the team’s list whereas their 2010 World Cup opening game will be a titanic one against 2008 European Champions Spain.

Still, Coach Reinaldo Rueda will ask for a clean sheet from his defense against Azerbaijan who just lost 3-1 to Macedonia on May 29. An emphatic victory in these circumstances will prove vital for Honduras.
