Spanish media had a great time with the Sandro Rosell and Neymar saga last week, but things look to be all sorted out. The Madrid based newspapers added gasoline to the fire, reported that Neymar's €57.1m price tag was not what Barcelona really paid for the 22-year-old.

After Rosell stepped down, Barcelona and football fans in general could not help but question his decision. Was he hiding something?

Since Rosell walked away from the club, new president Jose Maria Bartomeu has come forward to explain the Neymar transfer.

Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported that €40m was paid to Neymar's family, €17m to Neymar's former club Santos, €7.9 to Santos for footballing rights of three young promising players, €9m for two friendly matches to be played between the two sides, €8.5 in commission for Neymar's father, €2.6 in agent fees, and sign on bonus of €10m.

So according to this breakdown, it seems as if the Neymar transfer was legitimate. Which would also save the Spanish champions from a Champions League ban, and even a 22 point deduction in La Liga.

Jose Maria Bartomeu's statement regarding the transfer

"There have been a lot of things said about the Neymar transfer, but I can guarantee that we have not lied at any point. Neymar was allowed to pass around the confidentiality clause in his contract, because he felt what has been happening was unfair. Neymar wanted to come here because he respects the values of our club and he wanted to play with Leo Messi."
