The United States and the Czech Republic will clash together in East Hartford at Rentschler Field. This encounter is a friendly match as part of the USA's 2010 World Cup preparations.

Landon Donovan celebrates with his USA mates. The last time the USA met the Czech Republic, it ended in a real nightmare for the Americans. That was during the 2006 World Cup when the US national soccer team lost its first match of the campaign 3-0. Midfielder Landon Donovan recalled that miserable encounter ahead of their friendly against the Czech Republic.

“It wasn’t the fondest memory of my career – that game. I remember after five minutes we were down a goal and then we were chasing the game so it was difficult."

At 0:00 GMT, the Americans will play with the desire of getting the right result as they prepare to compete against the world's best teams in South Africa. Defending the USA's decision to play a team that are not 2010 World Cup participants, Landon Donovan explained:

"We expect a very good challenge. If you can’t play one of the teams that have qualified for the World Cup, there’s not many better teams that you can pick that the Czech Republic."

The USA will kick off their 2010 World Cup campaign with a match against 1966 World Cup champions England on June 12.
