After being left out of the Tottenham squad which squared off against Monaco in a club friendly, rumors of Gareth Bale’s potential move to Real Madrid have gained increasing momentum.
Tottenham experienced first taste of life after Gareth Bale after being humbled by cash-laden French side AS Monao who brushed aside the North London outfit 5-2 in a club friendly on Saturday.

Gareth Bale was an integral part of the Tottenham side which showed so much promise last season, the Welshman’s inspirational season culminated a total of 24 goals, with his antics earning him the PFA Player of the year as well as the PFA young player of the year awards.
Even though Bale is touted for an imminent move to the Bernabeu, coach Andre Villa Boas and Chairman Daniel Levy remain adamant that no such deal has been made.

If Gareth Bale is to pledge his allegiance to AVB’s team for one more season, he could really help Tottenham reach their goals next season. The North London side have rivaled their bitter rivals Arsenal for the top four spot for quite some time now and unfortunately for Spurs it is the Gunners who have triumphed every single time.

However with the signings Tottenham made, Spurs are definitely top four favorites if Gareth Bale stays put for another year. After several defensive acquisitions last season, this year Spurs have now strengthened their midfield with the arrival of Brazilian tireless midfielder Paulinho who enjoyed a successful Confederations Cup campaign with his national side and is touted to achieve bigger things with his new club.

Paulinho can effectively prove to be a replacement for the aging Scott Parker who suffered last season with a number of injuries which kept him out of the squad for lengthy squads.

Tottenham’s other high profile acquisition of Roberto Soldado is another signing which can be very fruitful for the club.

The departure of Dimitar Berbatov left a void which Tottenham have failed to fill over the past few seasons. Tottenham’s striking options Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe put up disappointing showings last season with the fans yelping out for a new striker.
In Soldado Tottenham have a player who has a reputable goal scoring history and a combination of Bale and Soldado can definitely reap results for the North London Side.

On the other hand if Bale is to leave White Hart Lane for greener pastures, it will only be for a world record fee believed to be in the reign of 115 million euros and with such a massive transfer budget Tottenham can surely do enough to replace Bale with a number of players.

Even though replacing a player of the quality of Gareth Bale is never easy, there are players in the market who could keep Tottenham pushing for the Champions League spot.

Rumours had been circulating of Argentinean international Angel Di Maria to be used as part of the deal to lure Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and if that is the case Tottenham surely have a worthy replacement. Di Maria is one of the finest tricksters in La Liga and definitely one of the most under rated players in the side. The 25 year old has a hoard of skills under his belt and apart from his wonderful dribbling skills, Di Maria is also a wonderful passer of the ball. The Argentinean’s arrival will ensure that Bale us not entirely missed next season.

Tottenham are also reportedly in the market for controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez who was probably as good as Bale last season and was it not for his shenanigans, he would have been a fore running contender for the PFA player of the year award last season.
Tottenham would probably be able to match Liverpool’s 50 million pound demand if they succeed in selling Bale for a world record fee and the arrival of the Uruguayan international should suffice for the Welshman’s departure.

Apart from replacing Gareth Bale, the momentous amount of money which will be received can be use to further strengthen other areas of the squad. Spurs are currently short of left back options with Benoit Assou-Ekotto no longer the reliable full back he used to be and his back up Kyle Naughton not living upto his name.

Spurs can also use the money to seek a partner for Vertonghen at the centre of the defense with William Gallas already released by the club and Michael Dawson too injury prone Tottenham will definitely need a defensive recruitment.

With the money at hand Tottenham can surely purchase a world class defender which would make them a much more dangerous side and hot favorites for the Champions League spot next season.
