The upcoming final of the Confederations Cup would be quite a spectacle and it would be really interesting to see how Spanish and Brazilian players, who play with and against each other, renew acquaintances and rivalries
On Sunday, Brazil and Spain square off in the final of the World Cup warm up tournament. Interestingly, many players in the squad are playing either in La Liga or in Spain which means there would be quite a lot of tussles and mini ‘Clasicos’ this Sunday.

Dani Alves vs Jordi Alba

This should be an interesting battle. Dani Alves and Jordi Alba are club mates at Barcelona and it would quite an exhibition seeing the two full-backs attack and defend their respective flanks. This would be the first time they will play against each other and both men would be looking to do exceptionally well in order to save face the next time they bump into each other at the Camp Nou.

David Luiz vs Fernando Torres

Throughout the tournament, David Luiz has carried out his defensive duties with aplomb. Similarly, the Brazilian’s Chelsea teammate, Fernando Torres has quietly gone about his business and is currently the leading scorer of the tournament with five goals to his name. Luiz would definitely be looking to shackle El Nino while the former Liverpool star would be on the lookout for all the defensive frailties in Luiz’s game that have been exaggerated by the British media.

Gerard Pique vs Neymar

If there is one player who would be looking to do well against Spain, it would be Brazil’s Neymar. The young attacker will be donning the colours of Barcelona from next season and would be eager to give his new teammates a hands-on experience of why they should thank the club for luring him to Catalonia. Impressive since the first minute of the tournament, the former Santos man will come up against Gerard Pique every now and then and would be looking to be a true “La Tortura” for his new Barcelona teammate.

Dante vs Javi Martinez

The 2012/2013 campaign has been quite a season for Bayern Munich’s Dante and Javi Martinez and both men will be squaring off against each other in the latter stages of the game. Martinez might not get a starting role but when he does come on, the two men will definitely add an extra spark to the midfield.

However Dante despite of being an important member of the treble winning Bayern Munich side has failed to break into the Brazilian first team and it remains to be seen whether Scolari will field the him in tonight’s encounter.

Neymar vs Alvaro Arbeloa

Though he is yet to experience the highs and lows of the famous Classico, Neymar will definitely be given a good trailer of what he is in for when the two sides meet this Sunday. Being a Real Madrid fan from boyhood, Arbeloa will be looking to make life miserable for Brazil’s new Joga Bonito leader. That duel could be a big test for the young Brazilian and if he manages to run the Madrid man ragged, it would definitely make Luiz Felipe Scolari extremely happy.
