Karim Benzema has enjoyed a week for the ages. First, with his hat-trick against PSG, and now, with a brace against Mallorca that has helped Los Blancos create a ten-point gap between Carlo Ancelotti's team and Sevilla in the quest to win La Liga.
The former Lyon ace scored his brace in less than five minutes, first with a penalty and the second one with a precise header. While those might not seem as astonishing feats, the footballer managed to grab a couple of records that will live forever in both Real Madrid and French football history.
For starters, Benzema has had his most prolific season in front of goal with tonight's goals, as he has already scored more goals than ever in a single campaign. With quite a few matches left and with his current form in front of goal, Benzema will surely go way past his current record.

To make this Monday night even more memorable for the striker, he surpassed an authentic French legend in the goalscoring department with his brace today if you add goals for club and country.

Unfortunately it was not all sunshine and rainbows for the French ace, since he was taken off as a precaution following his second goal and right after he seemed to be complaining about a muscular problem.
