Eight-time Algarve Cup champions USA to play Iceland, China and Sweden; tournament to air live on TV in USA between March 6 and March 13, 2013

The Algarve Cup will go on without Hope Solo for the first time in 10 years.Miami Beach, Florida (February 28, 2013) - History will be made in March as soccer fans in the United States will be able to follow the Algarve Cup live on TV for the first time ever. LiveSoccerTV.com has made online and television schedules ready for you to print out (see grids below). Watch all of the United States women's national team matches live in demand. The Algarve Cup will also receive live coverage from Eurosport 2, Eurosport 2 Deutschland, Eurosport France and British Eurosport 1.

Coach Tom Sermanni carries a 23-player squad composed of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and five forwards. The biggest omission is Hope Solo. The goalkeeper took to social network Facebook to voice out her bitterness at having to miss the tournament through injury.

“This is the first time in 10 years I’ll be missing the Algarve tournament. I dont know what to do, It's been an annual trip for a decade,” 2012 Olympic gold medallist Hope Solo recently noted on her official Facebook page which gathers over 1.35 million members.

In the absence of the controversial shot stopper, the U.S. Women’s national team will be led by the experience of 2012 FIFA Women’s Player of the Year award winner Abby and Wambach, and the freshness of youngster Alex Morgan.

Germany are the defending champions. They won their second Algarve Cup title by beating Japan in a seven-goal thriller on March 7, 2012. The United States found consolation by finishing third at the expense of Sweden who conceded a Wambach goal in between Morgan’s hat-trick.

There is a ninth title at stake for the U.S. Women’s national team but Group A’s Germany, Denmark, Japan and Norway as well as Group C’s Portugal, Mexico, Wales and Hungary are all dreaming of the top spot too.
