The Polish ace did not hold back when speaking of his colleague, while he also shared his thoughts on which award is harder to get.

The tug of war between Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi after the Ballon D'Or and The Best Awards ceremonies took place will seemingly continue, as the Polish footballer once again discussed Messi's snub in the FIFA-sanctioned award despite his words during the Ballon D'Or gala.

In an interview with a Polish magazine, Bayern München's star referred to his triumph over La Pulga in FIFA's gala, while also giving this award more relevance than the one France Football could have due to its reputation.

"I've been thinking about that lately, and I've reached a conclusion. FIFA's award is more relevant, mainly because the Ballon D'Or is only awarded by journalists, and there is no clear validation of the votes. On the other hand, football pros and press vote to get FIFA's award. National team captains and coaches also cast their votes and analyze our perfornances in a more realist and objective way, and I say this because they know how hard the game can be,"Lewandowski said.

But the striker did not stop there, and while he gave some credit to the Ballon D'Or, he ended up giving FIFA's award more weight.

"Maybe the Ballon D'Or is more prestigious, but getting FIFA's The Best award makes me proud because I know how hard I worked to get it for many years," the player added.

Once he shared his views on both awards, Lewandowski aimed a slight dig at Messi, who shared kind words for Lewandowski when he accepted last year's Ballon D'Or, but failed to back them up by snubbing "Lewa" in the run to win FIFA's recognition.

"I voted for him because of what he did this year and the one before that. Messi said he would vote for me to win the Ballon D'Or. Why did he change his point of view? I will never know. Either way, I am not complaining, he made up his mind and that's it. I won the award anyway, so it was easier for me to accept that fact," the striker concluded.
