In a news that lighted up the San Siro, Mario Balotelli made his switch to Italian side AC Milan. With Milan struggling at all fronts, can Balotelli be the man to drive Milan to the Serie A title?
He has not been at the club for long, but he has already made his presence felt. In his debut for the Rossoneri side against Udinese, he scored two goals including a last minute penalty to secure a crucial win for his side.

Milan have been greatly missing a player in the mould of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, ever since he left for Paris Saint Germain in the summer transfer window. Though the goals have been coming through the brilliance of El Shaarawy, Milan missed the physical presence and the dribbling abilities of Ibra. In Balotelli, Milan once again have a player who can fire them to the top of the table.

With 15 games to go Milan are 12 points off the table of the table, but there is still a possibility of them knocking Juventus to win the title. Juventus are currently on a disappointing run, losing 1 and drawing 2 of their last 5 matches. However knocking the Old Lady off their top berth will not be a simple task, Juventus are the reigning Serie A Champions and will do everything to ensure that they capture their second consecutive title.

It might be a blessing in disguise for Milan, that Balotelli is cup tied in the Champions League. This will allow him to concentrate more on the Serie A fixtures and exert all his efforts towards winning the Italian crown only. At Milan Balotelli will be playing alongside many of his national teammates including Riccardo Montolivo, Stephan El Shaarawy, Antonio Nocerino and Ignazio Abate, thus settling in the side should not be much of an issue. Alongside young guns El Shaarawy and M'Baye Niang, Balotelli can form a formidable attacking force, which can haunt defences for years.

Balotelli has all the ingredients needed to play for any top side in the world. At the age of 22 the former Manchester City striker has a lot of years ahead of him. However everyone is aware of Balotelli’s attitude and his comical antics. He has not been in Milan for long, but has already made headlines after a row with police officials. If Milan are to benefit from Balotelli, it is very important that someone in the club can make an effort to alter his attitude or to mentor him. On Sunday AC Milan face 16th placed Cagliari, it will be interesting to see whether Balotelli can replicate his display against Udinese in an away fixture.
