The Danish footballer is back in work after joining Brentford until the end of the season.

Just over seven months after that near-tragic moment in Denmark's unforgettable Euro 2020 clash with Finland, Christian Eriksen has sealed an excellent return to football.

Shortly after his cardiac arrest, it became apparent that he would no longer have a career in Serie A. Health regulations prevented him from playing professionally in Italy's top-flight league, forcing Inter Milan to terminate his contract.

However, Eriksen remained a classy player, and when reports linking him with a move to Brentford popped up, football fans as a whole welcomed this news. Who wouldn't want to see the midfield maestro back on the pitch with a ball at his feet doing what he does best?

And on transfer deadline day, this was made official. The Bees wrapped up a deal for Eriksen until the end of the season. The 29-year-old, who hasn't played a single competitive game since that match against Finland, had been with former club Ajax in order to maintain his fitness. However, a return to the Premier League would require a whole new level from the Danish star.

"Hi everyone, it's Christian Eriksen. I'm happy to announce I've signed for Brentford Football Club. I can't wait to get started and hopefully I'll see you all very soon," the midfielder said in a video posted by the club with the caption "things you absolutely love to see".

The newly-promoted side weren't the only ones glad to see Eriksen back employed. Everyone from Tottenham and Inter, his former clubs, to journalist and fans welcomed this update, taking to Twitter to post heartwarming tweets. Check the best messages below.

Brentford's director of football Phil Giles opened up about the concerns surrounding the player and his health condition. While he was not keen on betraying the midfielder's right to privacy, the Bees official assured everyone that thorough examinations were carried out.

"Brentford fans can rest assured that we have undertaken significant due diligence to ensure that Christian is in the best possible shape," Giles said.
