With lack of playing time and constantly being played out of position, it's easy to understand where the winger is coming from.

A recent report by the Athletic suggested that Romelu Lukaku is only one of many Chelsea attackers growing frustrated with Thomas Tuchel. With that in mind, Christian Pulisic's comments on his current life at Stamford Bridge were interesting.

The former Dortmund talent has joined up with the Stars and Stripes ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifiers for January 27 through February 2, with Gregg Berhalter's men set to play in three games, one being a highly-anticipated showdown with continental rivals Canada.

While with the national team setup, the 23-year-old was asked an array of questions, including his time in West London this season. Pulisic was candid, admitting to being disappointed with his current situation at the club, and for obvious reasons.

While he has made 19 appearances this term, the USA star is not preferred by Tuchel in his front three. In fact, the winger, who joined the champions of Europe for an estimated $73.1M, has been played out of position oftern, covering for the wingbacks when need be.

"Obviously it has been up and down this year, for sure. Not exactly where I want to be and how I want things to be right now," the attacker said, as per the Sun.

"I'm just going to keep going and it doesn't affect me when I come here. So I am excited to be here.

"When I come to the national team it is 'How are things with Chelsea?' and 'What's this' and 'What's that.' It's tough.

"Mentally it has played on me at times but I am always very excited to be on the national team and get to enjoy playing with these guys and just enjoy football in general.

"It is tough. I haven't always been playing in the positions I want to play in. But I think it is a good quality to be versatile and able to play in all kinds of positions and have different strengths on the pitch.

"I've learned a lot and I'm ready to hopefully be in a spot over the next few games that I'm more comfortable in."

While the American did not drop any bombshell like Lukaku did a while back, it remains a concern that another Chelsea attacker is battling with frustration. The Athletic suggested that some are pondering a move away from the Blues, but Pulisic made no hint of wanting out of Stamford Bridge.

Currently, his focus is solely on the national team. The USMNT are second in the table, which would secure automatic qualification for the 2022 World Cup, but with fourth-placed Panama being only two points behind, even the slightest of slip-ups could send them tumbling down the standings.
