Arsenal set to offload Aubameyand on loan

Transfer: Arsenal set to offload Aubameyang in ongoing transfer window

January 3, 2022 By Oscar Rojas
The former Gunners' captain may be living his final days for the North London side after his public rift with Mikel Arteta.

The second half of the 2021-22 season has begun, and with the winter transfer window in full motion, the first official moves are set to be confirmed in the next few days. With that in mind, it is not rare to see rumors flying back and forth, and one of the most interesting of those has to do with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future after his fall from grace at Arsenal.

The Gabonese footballer is desperate to leave the club due to his lack of protagonism under Arteta, who separated him from the team as a disciplinary measure, and that has been the final "insult" to Aubameyang's career with the Gunners. Hence, the player is ready to leave the club as soon as possible, with as many as four teams ready to battle for his services.

Although there have been inquiries from clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus, or West Ham for the player's services, it seems that the safest bet for "Auba" would be to leabe Emirates Stadium on loan to join Newcastle United. The Magpies are ready to start investing in their squad to keep their spot in the Premier League, and the footballer seems like the right fit for a team that has lacked accuracy in front of goal.

Reports coming in from England suggest that Aubameyang would join the Magpies on a loan deal to get him off Arteta's back, and once the team's battle to avoid relegation is completed, then they would come up with $26M to make the move permanent.

Timing to complete this deal will be crucial for both sides, as Arsenal are desperate to offload the footballer and Newcastle need to add points to their tally if they want to avoid relegation this season. Only time will tell if the former Arsenal captain leaves the club, but the chance to see him leave the Gunners increases with each day that goes by without him in a matchday squad.
