The former FIFA World Player of the Year will remain in Italy next season.

Speculation has been mounting over the future of Milan’s star man Ronaldinho recently; as it has been suggested a return to South America, to link up with Adriano at Flamengo, is a genuine possibility for next season.

The former Barcelona number 10 looks set to be snubbed by Dunga for the Brazilian squad to travel to the upcoming World Cup in South Africa, which has increased the likelihood of a return home.

Nevertheless, his brother and agent, Roberto De Assis, has denied these rumours, by suggesting that his client intends to at least see out his contract with the Rossoneri.

“Ronaldinho? All I can say is that he has a contract with Milan until 2011,” De Assis was quoted as saying.

“I am in no position to say anymore, as it would be embarrassing.

“Flamengo are a marvellous club, but this is where it stops. There is nothing more for me to say.”

Ronaldinho will be forced to watch from the sidelines this weekend due to suspension, as his side do battle with Lazio at the San Siro stadium.
