Video: Luis Alberto’s cracker upsets the Red Devils – Manchester United 0-1 Cluj

Manchester United lost 1-0 to CFR Cluj at Old Trafford on Matchday 6 of the UEFA Champions League. One man in particular captured the eyes of the public: Luis Alberto.

Manchester United got beaten 1-0 by CFR Cluj through a cracking goal from Luis Alberto. Tom Cleverley and Chris Smalling both came close to breaking the deadlock for Manchester United. With Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck pairing upfront, the home supporters were looking for something to scream about.

Before the match, coach Alex Ferguson had warned his defenders to improve following last weekend's patchy 4-3 win over Reading in the English Premier League.

However, just as is happened against Galatasaray on Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League, the Red Devils encountered a 1-0 loss on Wednesday night. In any case, the result did not prevent them from qualifying as group winners.

Now while their backline will be one of the main topics to discuss ahead of this weekend's Manchester Derby in the EPL, the focus at the moment is on Luis Alberto's sumptuous cracker. In spite of this victory at Old Trafford, CFR Cluj failed to reach the Last 16 of the UEFA Champion League as Galatasaray beat Sporting Braga in the night's other game.
