The Magpies are set to begin their transfer spree in the upcoming months with up to five additions being planned by coach Eddie Howe.

Fans and experts aronud the globe have been wondering about the names of the players that will join Newcastle in the upcoming transfer window, and once their new boss has been appointed, the team has set their sights on two Manchester United players as their first reinforcements.

According to a report by The Mirror, the Magpies will try to hire as many players as possible to avoid relegation this season. Added to that, coach Eddie Howe has admitted his team will think on a long-term basis before deciding which players they want to add to the squad. With that in mind, it is not surprising to see two of Manchester United's promising footballers being part of this list, even if they have not featured prominently during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's term as coach.

The two players Newcastle have targeted to be their first reinforcements are none other than midfielder Donny Van de Beek and goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The 24-year-old duo has barely featured for the Red Devils this season, and while Van de Beek's move to St. James' Park would be permanent, Henderson's exit this winter would only be a loan deal.

The English publication suggests that Newcastle may face stiff competition to sign Van de Beek, as Everton and Wolverhampton have included the player in their wishlists. As for Henderson, the goalie would push for a loan deal that will keep him on Manchester United's radar, especially when the time comes for David De Gea to leave the club.

Newcastle's spending spree will not stop there, as the team's new owners have also named Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot as potential reinforcements. The team's hierarchy believes that Ramsey may become one of the first signings of this new era, given that Juventus are not keen on keeping him around beyond the winter and after the player's comments about wanting to go back to the Premier League.

All these players fit the requirements set by coach Howe, but only time will tell which of them end up joining the Magpies for the second half of the season.
