Although the Biancocelesti currently sit three points ahead of Juventus heading into their crunch clash, Lazio will have to face the Turin titans without one of their most influential players.

It's been a mixed season so far for Lazio, who are currently under the tutelage of Maurizio Sarri. However, thanks to a recently strong patch of form, which has seen them lose just one league game in the last five, the Biancocelesti have moved to fifth spot in the table. While they're quite some distance from Napoli and AC Milan, who occupy the top two spots in the rankings, they are slightly ahead of their cross-town rivals Roma and perhaps more important, Turin titans Juventus heading into their upcoming game this weekend.

Earlier this year, Immobile, who has won three Capocannoniere prizes and a European Golden Shoe, became Lazio's all-time top-goalscorer thanks to his goal during a 1-0 win over Parma in May. And while he's had his struggles to replicate the same kind of form for the Italian national team, he's hit the ground running in Serie A, with ten goals helping him to move to the top of the goalscoring charts. In doing so, the 31-year-old is also the first Lazio player to score ten or more goals in six consecutive seasons.

But if Lazio thought they'd have more than a home pitch advantage when Juventus come to town on Saturday, those hopes have now been dashed. According to reports in Italy, namely Tuttosport, the Aquile star is struggling with a calf injury that prevented him for playing for the Azzurri during the international break, and still hasn't recovered in time for full training.

To make matters worse, veteran winger Pedro, who moved to Lazio from Roma earlier this year, is also struggling with a recent ankle injury, meaning that Sarri may have to make do without two key players in his starting XI ahead of his former side's arrival at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.
