Matchday 12's biggest game will arguably be a clash between the reigning champs Lille and the team they beat to the coveted Ligue 1 prize, PSG.

Last weekend saw Le Classique steal all the headlines, but unfortunately, there were no goals to write home about. Elsewhere, Lyon and Nice locked horns, with Nice, who are having a very impressive season, coming out on top 3-2. Meanwhile, the highlight of matchday 12 arguably will be a clash starring PSG and Lille, but other games, such as Lyon-Lens, Angers-Nice, and Clermont-Marseille are among those not to miss.

Here's all you need to know ahead of matchday 12.

Ligue 1 standings heading into matchday 12

Ligue 1 games you won't want to miss on matchday 12

PSG vs Lille: Kicking off matchday 12 will be a clash featuring PSG and Lille. They just so happen to be the teams who have won the Ligue 1 title in recent times, with Les Dogues pipping Les Parisiens ever so slightly to the coveted prize last season. However, things haven't gone so smoothly for the reigning champs, who first saw coach Christophe Gaultier depart seemingly abruptly shortly after their historic title win, and have really struggled to reach the same kind of heights since Jocelyn Gourvennec's appointment. It's interesting now that the same Galtier is over at Nice, who sit in third, while his former side find themselves in 10th, 13 points behind PSG.

For Les Parisiens, who come into this game having drawn Marseille in last weekend's Le Classique, they'll be out for revenge. Not only did Lille beat them to the Ligue 1 title last season, but they also defeated them 1-0 in the Trophée des Champions at the start of this campaign, meaning that PSG were unable to defend their crown for the ninth straight time. The hosts are still facing quite a few players out on the treatment table, but the biggest concern will be the fitness of Kylian Mbappe, who is reportedly struggling with a nasty ear infection and looks set to miss out. In addition, Lionel Messi is still recovering from a knock and will have to be closely evaluated prior to the clash.

Lyon vs Lens: Lyon saw their four game winning streak snapped recently as Les Gones were on the wrong end of a five goal thriller against Nice. They'll naturally be keen on getting back to winning ways, but that will be easier said than done as they're welcoming a Lens side who have been one of the surprise packages in Ligue 1 this season. The visitors currently rest in second spot, with just two losses so far - albeit those two defeats have come in their last five matches.

Angers vs Nice: Nice, who are currently under the tutelage of Ligue 1 winning boss Galtier, have had a strong start to the season. Les Aiglons find themselves in third place, just one point behind second-placed Lens who will be traveling to face Lyon about 24 hours earlier, so depending on how things turn out form the Lens-Lyon game, Nice may be able to find themselves in second spot by the time matchday 12 concludes. Still, this could present a tricky match for the visitors, as Angers have had a solid campaign so far and are just out of touching distance of the top three.

Clermont vs Marseille: Newly promoted Clermont seemingly burst out of the gates early on, with a blistering start helping them climb to the top of the table. Now that things have settled, the minnows have slid back down the table with just one win from their last five games. Will team leading scorer Mohamed Bayo be able to help revitalize his team when Marseille, who arrive having drawn PSG in Le Classique, come to town on Sunday?
