Following the international break, the Premier League returns to action on Saturday, with the match between Leicester City and Manchester United being the most anticipated.

Preview

Leicester will welcome Manchester United to the King Power Stadium on Saturday with the Premier League returning after the international break. Both clubs have endured a series of poor results in recent weeks and will be eager to turn things around with the top half of the table rapidly shaping up. For the host, the objective will be to winning ways after failing to pick up points in their last four Premier League outings. After losing 1-0 to Manchester City in September, the Foxes have gone on to lose to Brighton and draw against Burnley and Crystal Palace respectively. In-between, they have registered a 2-2 draw with Napoli in the Europa League as well as 2-0 victory over Millwall.

To some optimistic Leicester City fans, the upcoming meeting with Manchester United may have come at an opportune time as a win will hand their side the needed morale booster to forge ahead. The visitors, just like the King Power outfit, have had their fair share of struggles in the ongoing campaign and could see their plight being extended even further. The fact that the host have won the last two meetings between the pair gives room for yet another big win to ensue in the weekend's encounter.

For United, the mission will be to end their poor run of form and keep their Premier League unbeaten away record going when they travel to the King Power. The Red Devils have failed to win their last two games in teh competition, both of which were played at Old Trafford. Since the shock 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in which Bruno Fernandes squandered a penalty in additional time, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's charges have picked up a 1-1 draw with Everton. Prior to that, the 20-time English champions had beaten Villarreal 2-1 in the Champions League but had crashed out of the Carabao Cup following a surprise 1-0 defeat at home against West Ham United.

As things stand, Manchester United are on an English league record unbeaten away run of 29 games since a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool in January 2020. They have won 19 games and have drawn 10 within the period. While the streak could well come to an end against Brendan Rodgers' men on Saturday, the Mancunians are expected to put on a good show to at least catch up to their title rivals who are gradually pulling away.

Head-to-head

Leicester has previously defeated Manchester United in the league and the FA Cup at Old Trafford in 2021. For the first time in 120 years, the Foxes may win three consecutive games against them in all competitions. United, on the other hand, has only been defeated once in their 15 Premier League away games in this fixture. That was a 5-3 loss in September of 2014. Since a 1-0 setback at Old Trafford in January 1998, Manchester United has scored in 24 consecutive league games.

Leicester's predicted line-up: Kasper Schmeichel; Timothy Castagne, Jannik Vestergaard, Caglar Soyuncu, Ryan Bertrand, Youri Tielemans, Boubakary Soumare, Hamza Choudhury, Harvey Barnes, Ayoze Perez, Jamie Vardy.

Manchester United's predicted line-up: David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo.
