Real Madrid’s juicy list of fixtures resumes tonight at the 2012 World Football Challenge. Los Blancos play Santos Laguna at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Nevada.
This summer, Real Madrid’s three friendly fixtures so far produced a flurry a goals. The 2012 Spanish La Liga titleholders kicked off their pre-season campaign with an easy win over Real Oviedo under the leadership of Esteban Granero. Real Madrid were on the losing side against Benfica in the Eusebio Cup.

However, they bounced back in style with a stellar performance over MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy. A third minute goal from Gonzalo Higuain gave Jose Mourinho’s team a perfect start at the 2012 World Football Challenge.

Angel Di Maria doubled Real Madrid’s advantage eight minutes later. David Lopes minimize the deficit for LA Galaxy with a 23th minute strike but Jose Callejon, Alvaro Morata and 2012 Euro U19 winner Jese Rodriguez rounded up a 5-1 victory for the Spanish giants.

Jose Mourinho and his men have no intention of toning down the momentum ahead of the 2012/13 club football season. Soccer fans can perhaps expect a goal fest against Mexico’s Santos Laguna.

What is certain is that Real Madrid will put in a serious performance. This summer is not about relaxing but working hard, according to the “Special One” who told the press at a conference:

“We are preparing rigorously because we know it will not be easy, on the contrary. Our squad is almost complete. These are very special players, some of the world's best.”

Real Madrid may have to do without the services of Angel Di Maria and Alvaro Arbeloa. Both players reportedly experienced fitness problems during the game against LA Galaxy. They may however be available for Real Madrid’s World Football Challenge 2012 fixtures against AC Milan and Celtic next week.
