Rennes welcome PSG to Roazhon Park as they look to turn their fortunes around ahead of the international break.

Paris Saint-Germain travel to Rennes in what will be their ninth Ligue 1 fixture of the season. Having lost the crown to Lille last season, the Parisians have mounted a brilliant start to the season and will fancy their odds to coming up against a side that has often been a thorn in their flesh. Mauricio Pochettino's side approach the encounter on the back of a 2-0 win over Manchester City, a game which saw Lionel Messi scoring his first goal for the club after Idrissa Gueye had broken the deadlock.

The Argentine will be very much interested in adding to add to his haul, especially because he is yet to hit the ground running. Needless to say, his form is not reflective of his side's as they have successfully won all the nine matches they have played so far. Across all competitions, they are yet to pick up a defeat in their last 10 matches.

This withstanding, meetings meet Rennes have often proved to be cagey and as a result, makes this upcoming clash another one to look forward to. Across the last five matches between the pair, both clubs have secured two wins apiece while the remaining one game has ended in a draw. This, coupled with the fact that Rennes are unbeaten in their last three outings in all competitions, set the tone for a spectacle to ensue.

Unlike PSG, the Roazhon Park outfit had a rather uninspiring start, and have so far registered two wins, three draws and three defeats in the eight games they have played so far. Nevertheless, there has been an appreciation in their form, and they will be eager to build on this to add to their quest to secure European football next season.
