The Polish star, who has hit the ground running once again in the Bundesliga, could add another record to his already glittering CV as die Roten travel to face struggling Greuther Fürth.

Last weekend saw Bayen crush their latest victims, struggling side Bochum, in a vintage performance from die Roten. Seven goals were scored sans reply, and it's not surprising that Robert Lewandowski was in on the action as well. The 33-year-old Polish star has resumed his excellent form that saw him score a whopping 41 goals last season, thus deservedly earning him the European Golden Shoe ahead of players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. This also helped him break a long-standing record set by the late icon Gerd Müller, whose 40 goals in a single season tally had stood for nearly half a century. It also makes him the second Bayern player - after the aforementioned Müller - to win the coveted prize.

Lewandowski's goal against Bochum last Saturday, which was Bayern's fifth of the match, also means that he became the first player in Bundesliga history to score in 13 consecutive Bundesliga home league games, bettering Müller's achievement. Overall, he's also netted in his last 18 appearances for Bayern across all competitions, which is three more than Müller achieved decades ago.

Bayern are next in action against relegation-threatened Greuther Fürth.

And what does that mean for the Polish ace?

More goals, that's for sure.

Indeed, one certainly won't bet against Lewandowski matching Müller's record in this upcoming match by scoring in 16 consecutive Bundesliga games, especially given the form he's been in since the start of the season. He currently has 284 goals for die Roten, making him second to only - yes, you guessed it - the late Gerd Müller, who netted 365 during his time with the Bavarian titans.
