La Vecchia Signora put an end to a nine-year wait to become Italian champions once again with a straightforward victory on Sunday.
Juventus won their 28th Serie A title after defeating Cagliari 2-0 in Trieste on Sunday. It was their first Scudetto triumph since 2003.

Juve's goals came courtesy of a 6th minute strike from Mirko Vucinic and a 74th minute own goal by Cagliari defender Michele Canini.

With the win, the Bianconeri extended their unbeaten run to 37 games, and with only one round left to play before the conclusion of the Serie A, they have the rare opportunity to finish the season unbeaten from the hand of coach Antonio Conte.

AC Milan, who needed to beat arch-rivals Inter Milan to take the title race to the last day of the season, suffered a 4-2 defeat at the San Siro.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's double wasn't enough, as a hat-trick from Diego Milito and a late goal from Maicon gave Inter the victory.

Despite the fact that Ibrahimovic's eight-year winning streak has come to an abrupt end, a consolation prize is that with 28 goals he is the odds on favourite to finish top of the scoring charts, ahead of South American strikers Milito and Edinson Cavani, who share second place with 23 goals.

With the Scudetto already decided, the race for the third and final Champions League berth continues to remain wide open.

Udinese, Lazio, Napoli and Inter will be hoping to join champions Juventus and runner ups Milan in Europe's biggest club competition next season.

Italy's third representative will be decided in the final round of the Scudetto next weekend.
