The Argentine superstar looks set to join Pochettino's side after Barcelona announced his surprise Camp Nou exit.

Footballs fans across the world eagerly await news on Lionel Messi's next move after his surprise Camp Nou exit was confirmed by Barcelona. While rumors have been doing the rounds, one man – and very important one – appears to have confirmed where the Argentine will play next season.

That person is none other than Khalid bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. In case you are wondering who that man is, he is the brother of Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar and owner of PSG.

According to the Middle-Eastern royal family member, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner has agreed to join the Ligue 1 giants. In fact, Khalid went as far as claiming via Twitter that "negotiations are officially concluded" and that an official announcement regarding this deal is in the works.

The Qatari royal family member then posted a picture of Messi alongside Sergio Ramos, who officially joined the Paris club last month, stating that a combined total of eight UEFA Champions League medals will be arriving in the French capital this summer – the Argentine and Spaniard have won four each.

While PSG could wrap things up at an unexpected speed, rumors linking the six-time Ballon d'Or winner with the Parc des Princes will come as no surprise. It took hours, maybe even less, for these claims to emerge in the aftermath of Barcelona's bombshell announcement.

Despite reaching an agreement with the player, the Blaugrana found it impossible to register their all-time goalscorer due to their dire financial situation. As a result, the recently-crowned Copa America champion looks set to leave the Camp Nou for free, bringing an end to his 20-year spell in Catalonia.

Pochettino's side are said to be the favorites to land the 34-year-old, but with recent links to Man City and Chelsea, the fight to land his signature might produce another twist. Keep your eyes out for this space!
