The Argentine icon scored his first goal of the 2024 MLS campaign after combining with fellow Barcelona legend Jordi Alba.

Inter Miami played their first away game of the new MLS season, traveling to LA Galaxy on the back of their 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake in the opening game of the 2024 campaign.

All eyes were on Lionel Messi and his teammates as they went in search of another three points. Unfortunately for the visitors, they were forced to settle for a single point at the Dignity Health Sports Park following a grueling 90 minutes of action, with La Pulga and fellow Barcelona icon Jordi Alba combining to rescue them a point.

LA Galaxy had a first-half penalty saved and squandered several fantastic goalscoring opportunities before eventually taking the lead in the 75th minute through Dejan Joveljić. However, the hosts had a man sent off in the 88th minute, thus handing the visitors a huge boost.

And Messi and Co. did not let that opportunity slip. The Argentine sensation turned back the clock, combining with Jordi Alba as he did several times before at Barcelona to tear through the Galaxy and score the equalizer in the 92nd minute. Check out his lovely goal in the clip below.

This result leaves Inter Miami top of the Eastern Conference but they are the only side that have played two games so far. On the flip side, this match rehashed the club's defensive frailties as starting three players of the age of 35 and older — Messi, Suarez, and Busquets — has its downside. Alba, meanwhile, turns 35 in just under a month.
