The classy playmaker didn't like the manner in which the Argentine giants treated him.
Andres D'Alessandro, the attacking midfielder of Brazilian club Internacional of Porto Alegre, expressed his frustration due to the fact that directors from his former club River Plate, didn't show any interest in him when he was willing to return to the club.

The Argentine international, who is clearly hurt by River's lack of appreciation for him, believes the club was relegated to the Argentine second division for "working very badly in the last few years." But he didn't want to expand on the subject.

"I had a family problem with my son, in which I had to return to live in Argentina for a while and they didn't want me. Nobody called me to return. I grew up at the club and I was really hurt by the fact that they didn't want me," explained D'Alessandro.

Meanwhile, the playmaker continued to be very brief when responding to questions about River's abrupt downfall: "I don't like to talk about River much at this moment because they say those who don't return are ungrateful, they treat us like mercenaries."

Finally, he admitted that he doesn't see himself in River Plate in the near future, but he stated that at some point he will return to Los Millonarios.

"I have a contract with Inter until 2015, and they won't let me leave that easily because they made a very big investment. But I'm sure that at some point I will be able to work with [Daniel] Passarella."

During the three years in which D'Alessandro donned the River Plate shirt he won five national championships. He has made 26 appearances for Argentina, scoring a total of four goals.
