The classy playmaker has resigned a move to Europe to remain at the Copa Libertadores champions.
Santos playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso has affirmed that he will be prepared to reopen talks about extending his Santos stay at the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup, which takes place in December.

There has been ongoing speculation about a future move to Europe for Ganso, however, the 22-year-old admitted that his priority is to remain at Santos, particularly because he wants to help the club retain their Copa Libertadores title in 2012.

Ganso has attracted the attention of several of Europe's top clubs, including AC Milan, Manchester United and both Barcelona and Real Madrid. But he is likely to stay put for now because he has a contract with Santos that currently runs until 2015.

In recent months it was said that Ganso would accept a move to Europe at the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup, but like team-mate Neymar, the 22-year-old could stay at the club for a lengthier period.

"What I desire is to reach an agreement with Santos to extend my contract here," said Ganso. "I have told the president that I want to talk in January after the Club World Cup."

Like Neymar, Ganso played a key role as Santos beat Penarol of Uruguay to lift the Copa Libertadores earlier in the year. At the conclusion of the competition he joined the Brazil squad to take part in the Copa America in Argentina. Although Ganso was one of Brazil's standout performers, they were eliminated from the tournament at the quarter-final stage by Paraguay.

Ganso, whose greatest attributes are his vision and radar-like passing, is at ease at Santos and is likely to remain at the club along with Neymar. According to reports, Santos are hoping to bring back former stars Diego and Robinho to celebrate their centenary year in 2012.

Despite wide interest surrounding the player, Ganso has his sights on December's FIFA Club World Cup, where his club Santos are expected to meet European champions Barcelona in the final.
