The viewership numbers for soccer matches aired in the USA between May 22 and May 28, 2023 are in and Liga MX, once again, showed its tremendous popularity in the States. Not only did the top two spots go to games from the Mexican top-flight, but no.1 and no.2 were snatched up by the first and second leg of the same match-up: the Clausura final.
The second leg between Guadalajara and Tigres UANL, which ended in a 3-2 victory for the latter, took the top spot after racking up nearly three million average viewers and a viewership rating of 1.03! This tie was aired on Telemundo while the first leg, which ended in a nil-nil draw and garnered roughly two million average viewers for Univision, came second on the podium, thus rounding up a successful season for Liga MX in the USA.
And in third, we had a Premier League game, but not a fixture featuring the Big Six. Instead, given that the relegation battle was the only undecided race heading into the final round, nearly half-a-million average viewers tuned in to USA Network to catch Everton's clash with Bournemouth, which the Toffees won 1-0 to secure another season in the English top flight.
