It seemed like the glory days would be back for Arsenal due to their impressive run in the first half of the season, but everything changed for Mikel Arteta's men and fans were less than apologetic with some of their comments after Manchester City were confirmed as champions following the Gunners' defeat to Nottingham.
Arsenal needed to win this match to keep their title hopes alive, and even then, Manchester City had the upper hand due to their lead and since they have one more game to play than the London-based club. Now, with Arsenal's one-nil defeat, the red and white side will finish another season without silverware just when they fans believed they deserved better luck.
There have been many players who have been criticized for their poor contribution to Arsenal in the second half of the season, but the fact that they dropped a 12-point lead to end four units behind Manchester City speaks volumes of how badly they handled their performances in the final games of the season.
With that in mind, fans and experts looked back at this woeful display and trolled the team mercilessly after their runner-up spot was confirmed. Have a look at some of those comments.
