The Red Devils are only a point ahead of Liverpool but have a game in hand. Nonetheless, Rashford and Co. are at great risk of missing out on a top-four finish.

A few weeks ago, Manchester United were nailed on to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. However, fast forward to today and the Red Devils' hopes of finishing in the top four have come under tremendous danger.

The 20-time English champions have a game in hand but are only a point ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool, with Klopp's men finally clicking into gear and mounting a late surge for a top-four finish. Rashford and Co. have four games left to play and while three of those are at Old Trafford, the club's iconic fortress, they will face Wolves, Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Fulham in the final run-in, which could prove tricky.

Additionally, Ten Hag has been struggling with injuries as of late and has thus managed only one win in the team's last four fixtures, losing the last two in a row. However, despite this, the Dutch tactician has made a bold claim regarding Liverpool's top-four push and his team's campaign to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's clash with Wolves, Ten Hag stressed that Liverpool's form and that one-point gap are of no importance, arguing that his side must simply focus on the task at hand: beating Lopetegui's men. On one hand, this is an understandable statement as Ten Hag aims to avoid any distractions ahead of their final four games of the season. Nonetheless, Manchester United have to be wary of Liverpool as missing out on a top-four finish to the Merseyside giants would be a huge blow to the Dutchman's rebuild.

"Of course we can ignore that, it's not important. We have everything in our hands and as long as we have everything in our hands we are not dependent on them," the Old Trafford boss said, as per the Daily Mail.

"The important thing is the opponent we face tomorrow: Wolves. We have to take them seriously. They have done a great job. We focus on that.

"We are convinced with what we are doing. We've had a lot of success. We have a lot of games, the way we work, the way we're playing, the structures are really clear but we have to execute them and show 100 per cent discipline in the rules and principles. When we do that, we are successful.

"We believe in the way we work and the way we play and the togetherness with the fans.

"There's a strong bond and a really good ambience at Old Trafford. It's difficult for opponents to go there and face us."

One of the biggest issues behind Manchester United's recent struggles has been their injury crisis. The club are currently without Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, and while the latter is expected to return for the final run-in, losing your preferred center-back partnership in the final quarter of the season would be the final nail in the coffin for any club.

Despite this, the Red Devils could still achieve their highest points tally in all but one of their last four campaigns. Additionally, the English giants have an FA Cup final to play, and while that fixture is a clash with Manchester City, Ten Hag could secure a second domestic cup in his debut season at the Theatre of Dreams, having already lifted the Carabao Cup.
