Two key players have been passed fit for Saturday's ultimate showdown, the German boss announced.

Chelsea are gearing up for the match of the season, Saturday's UEFA Champions League final showdown. The London giants will be taking on Man City in the ultimate game and have fortunately been blessed with two huge injury boosts ahead of the weekend clash.

In the final few games of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, not only did the Blues suffer a few confidence-crushing defeats, but the London giants also racked up a few injury concerns. Two players who picked up issues, sparking concerns ahead of the Estadio Dragao trip, are N'Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy.

The French midfielder, who has enjoyed a renaissance under Tuchel, suffered a thigh issue in the 2-1 league victory over Leicester while the Senegalese goalkeeper collided with the goal post in the final day defeat to Aston Villa.

However, the Chelsea manager has now revealed that both men are fine and available for the Man City tie. In fact, the Blues have a fully-fit squad to choose from in their trip to Porto.

"It is the best news ever, no injuries and I hope it stays like this until after the training today," Tuchel said to reporters, as per Goal.

The Stamford Bridge side head into this tie on the back of a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa and have lost three of their last four games across all competitions. Despite this, their German boss was adamant that his players are in high spirits ahead of their run-in with Guardiola's side.

"I would say I have full trust in everybody once it is about hunger, always on the highest level in sport it comes down to the question of how badly do you want it. But I felt us very concentrated, very focused, very disciplined in the build-up of this week," Thomas added.

"I feel us with genuine confidence, which is very nice to have, and a very nice feeling to arrive in a final with. We had two training sessions in London, one yesterday we did a bit of a tactical session because today is live.

"So today is the last training, to find out the last details, get the last feeling and more importantly for the players to get a feeling about the stadium. Feel it, smell it, and then the occasion is coming closer. And from dinner today we will have a countdown with two meetings tomorrow, and the big match coming up."
