Juventus are reportedly set to bring back former coach Massimiliano Allegri to Allianz Stadium to replace Andrea Pirlo.

If reports are to be believed, Juventus will be hiring their third manager in just three seasons shortly.

Former coach Massimiliano Allegri, who's been out of work for the past few years after the Bianconeri opted to relieve him of his duties in lieu of Maurizio Sarri, is looking set to make a dramatic return to Turin. Interestingly, he'll be replacing a player he coached at both AC Milan and Juventus: Andrea Pirlo.

Unfortunately for the former 2006 World Cup winner, clinching the Supercoppa Italiana and the Coppa Italia wasn't enough to save his position. Pirlo endured a difficult debut year on the tactician's bench, as Juventus failed to retain the Scudetto and crashed out of the Champions League.

In addition, they barely qualified for the Champions League as they narrowly squeaked into fourth place, and were fortunate that Napoli failed to beat Hellas Verona on the final matchday.

Allegri first managed Juventus from 2014 to 2019. Under his tenure, Juventus made it to two Champions League finals in 2015 and 2017; the 2015 appearance was their first since 2003. In addition, Juventus also won four consecutive league doubles - the first time in their club history.

It'll be very interesting to see how things pan out for Allegri in his second spell at Allianz Stadium, as he'll be under a great deal of pressure to turn things around - and fast.
