The rossoneri will bid farewell to one of the fans' favorite players after failing to reach a deal with the player's agent, Mino Raiola.

The end of an era is here for AC Milan, as home grown goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is ready to leave the club this summer. To make matters worse, the footballer will leave Il Diavolo on a free transfer as he failed to reach a deal that would give Milan something in exchange for his exit.

The news about Donnarumma's exit came via club legend Paolo Maldini, who confirmed the news about his departure in a live broadcast with fans on Twitch.

"Gigio has been a leader and our captain frequently. People don't understand what it is to be a professional player, and watching them leave to another club is hard to accept, but we have to respect those who gave their all to the club and who never disrespected it. Our paths may separate today, but we will wish him the best.

Donnarumma was reportedly asking for a four-million increase in his wages, while also including a hefty bonus for his agent, Mino Raiola. Milan refused to agree to such terms, and the footballer will end up leaving the rossoneri without a transfer fee required.

With the end of the season coming last week, teams from all across Europe have been linked to the goalkeeper's signing. As of now, teams such as Juventus and Barcelona have reportedly shown interest in signing the 21-year-old.
