Manchester United fans have not found common ground when it comes to blasting some of the players they have blamed for their poor performances in the past. Nevertheless, there has been an unanimous voice when it comes to Harry Maguire and how his career has taken a dip in form since he joined the Red Devils.
Today, those complaints have seemingly been heard by the team's hierarchy, as club officers have reported that the footballer is a transfer target for West Ham United, who would be willing to take the player off the Red Devils' roster on a loan deal.
The report by The Mirror states that Manchester United officers would agree to this move, as Maguire has fallen down the pecking order under Erik Ten Hag, who has favored Lisandro Martínez and Raphäel Varane as his starting center backs. In fact, Ten Hag has also used Luke Shaw as a center back rather than giving Maguire playing time.
The Hammers are currently ranked 18th in the Premier League and involved heavily in the battle to avoid relegation. Their defense has conceded 25 times this season, and while their lack of luck in front of goal has played a major role in their downfall, adding an experienced center back would not hurt their chances to fight for their spot in the English top-flight.
While the negotiation is only in its initial stage, sources consulted by the Mirror suggest that both clubs are close to agreeing terms on this move, leaving it all to the player to decide if he wants to move to London this winter.
