The Gunners seemed ready to hire the Ukrainian sensation, but Chelsea pulled a late swoop in recent hours.

Just when it seemed like a matter of time for Arsenal fans to welcome Mykhailo Mudryk, another Premier League team has stolen their transfer target away from them at the buzzer.

Arsenal had submitted a $75M bid with $20M in add-ons for Mudryk's services, and while the Gunners had agreed terms with the player, the negotiation with Shakhtar Donetsk was not finalized, giving way for other teams to try and lure the player away from Arsenal's grip.

Fortunately for Chelsea fans, that is exactly what happened. Members of the Blues' hierarchy made the trip to Poland to negotiate terms with the Ukrainian side, and reports close to the team's members that made the trip to that country confirm that Mudryk's entourage and Shakhtar have accepted the offer, with personal terms still being agreed with the footballer.

Details of the transfer were also shared by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Hours later, sources within the Blues revealed that Mudryk already made the trip to London, where he will complete a medical prior to Chelsea's game against Crystal Palace. The source mentioned that Mudryk may also be present at Stamford Bridge if things go as planned in the medical.
