The Blues and the Red Devils will enter their games as favorites, but there could be some issues for them to maintain that status once the ball starts rolling.

The return of club football in England will bring fans a couple of outstanding matches for Tuesday. Those games will include two would-be title contenders who have struggled to find their best form before the World Cup break.

The first of those matches will feature Chelsea, who are now ninth after a spell that has seen them unable to win in their most recent five league games. The other one will include Manchester United and Nottingham, a game in which the Red Devils will want to come closer to the top four, while Nottingham's main goal will be to keep adding points to avoid relegation.

Let us give you a glimpse of the main topics to keep an eye on as these clubs pick up things where they left them before the forced pause in the competition.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

The Blues have not been at their best during this season. Their form before the break saw them without a win in their last five league games, three of those ending in defeats. Now, Graham Potter's men need to bounce back, but doing so against Bournemouth may be easier said than done.

The team led by Gary O'Neil will make it to this clash with one win out of their last five matches, and the boss will have to work things out with a struggling squad that will be without players such as Neto and Jefferson Lerma, one of them out due to injury and the other one recovering from an undisclosed illness. One more loss for the Cherries here would complicate things for them in their intention to avoid being relegated, mainly since they are now only three points away from the relegation zone.

DID YOU KNOW? Bournemouth defeated Chelsea 1-0 in their last trip to Stamford Bridge, which took place back in 2019.

Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest

The Red Devils had a tumultuous World Cup break, which included contract extensions for some (Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot), and contract terminations for others (Cristiano Ronaldo). Now, Erik Ten Hag will try to steer his men to victory, which would see them win their fourth match out of their last six in Premier League outings.

On the other side of the pitch, Nottingham Forest enter this game as the penultimate team in the competition with only 13 points to their name. It is absolutely imperative for them to win if they want to turn things around. Nevertheless, that will not be an easy task, as the team will have to make do without footballers such as Cheikhou Kouyaté, Omar Richards (both out due to injury) and Dean Henderson, who will not be included in the squad for contractual reasons.

DID YOU KNOW? Nottingham Forest are still looking for their first away win of the 2022-23 season. Five of their seven away matches have ended in losses for The Tricky Trees.
